WOW! It's been a while!!!!! I said that was my last post but now this will probably be it! I just wanted to write and briefly say what's happened over the past 5-6 months since I last wrote!
Well, the major thing going on recently is that the SHAH'S REIGN HAS ENDED!! After Black Friday, there was just one massacre after another and so many people were killed; everyone knew he end of his reign was near! Then one day, he made a declaration on TV, and for the next few months he tried to get everyone to "march towards democracy" by testing a dozen prime ministers, but nothing worked so his statues were torn down as a result of his failures. And then his effigy was burned. So finally he stepped down and ended his reign!!!!!! The day he left, the country had the biggest celebration of its entire history!!!! People are celebrating becaues they say the devil has left, and even though there is not total peace in Iran ("or anywhere in the Middle East, for that matter," says my father), everyone is happy and is living more joyfully now.
Anyways, I just wanted to give a quick update and maybe I will write again in another 5-6 months -- who knwos what will be happening then??
